A Word from the Architect
This Art Nouveau apartment house in Vinohrady has a unique character with a multitude of historic features. Our designs respect the original apartments, which are spacious, airy, wonderfully lit, and sunny. The aim of the redesign of the interiors was to maintain a dialog between the preserved elements and new features, refer back to the past, but at the same time heed the demands of 21st century life.

A theater since the 19th century
The past and present of Římská Street are closely connected to the theater. In the 19th century, it was home to the Teatro salone italiano, a variety theater famous for its performance and pantomimes. In the immediate area, the Vinohrady Theater, whose foundation stone was laid a year after Římská 34 was built, the U Hasičů Theater, or the National House of Vinohrady, still a lively cultural center, are all part of Prague's theater scene.
Besides the dramatic arts, the street also refers back to the visual arts—its previous name was Brandlova, in honor of Petr Jan Brandl, a famous painter and the leading Czech late Baroque artist. Until 1926, after the establishment of greater Prague, it was renamed Římská. Other streets in the vicinity of Náměstí Míru Street acquired the name of the Allies (countries or their capitals), the victorious nations of the First World War.
